Echoes of Borrowed Might

Stats

• Traditions: Occult
• Cast: 3 actions (ritual) verbal, somatic, material (memory shard worth 10 gp)
• Range: 30 feet
• Defense: Will

Effect

You select a creature within range and a specific individual—living, dead, or even a legend—whose memories you wish to trade. The target must attempt a Will save. Critical Success: The target resists the exchange; no memories are lost and you gain nothing. Success: The target loses all memories of the named individual. You gain a temporary Strength boost equal to the target’s Strength modifier for 1 minute. Failure: The target loses those memories as above, and you gain the Strength boost for 1 minute. Critical Failure: The target loses the memories, and you gain double the Strength boost for 10 minutes. Additionally, a hush falls over the area: all audible sounds within 30 feet are muted for the duration.

Heightened (+2)

Increase the spell’s rank by 2. The Strength boost’s magnitude increases by 2 (or by +2 to the bonus), the duration of a critical failure extends to 1 hour, and the range expands by 15 feet. The hush now suppresses magical verbal components as well.
