Chronicle of the Forgotten Hour

Chronomancy

A epic spell for Generic.

Let the ages bend to our will.

Stats

  • Casting: A whispered chant over a heartbeat
  • Range: Touch, the caster's hand
  • Duration: Until the item fulfills its purpose, then the spell wanes

Effect

The spell reaches into the object's future, pulling it forward in time. The target instantly ages, shedding years of wear, rust, and decay until it attains a condition the caster deems useful—be it a rusted blade becoming keen, a wilted herb blossoming, or a cracked amulet mending. While the spell works, the world’s clocks subtly shift, and in the city of Ardent, the great tower clock has been out of sync by exactly eleven minutes for a century, a silent testament to the rite’s lingering echo.

Escalation

If the caster invests additional focus, the aging accelerates, bringing the object to its peak state in a flash. The price is a temporary distortion: nearby timepieces sprint forward, then stall, and the caster may glimpse the object’s future uses, risking unwanted knowledge. Pushing beyond the object’s natural destiny can cause it to fracture, turning potential into ruin.
