Mikoto's Rope

Stats

• Casting: Whispered words, air grows cold
• Range: Touch
• Duration: Until the object becomes useful or a century

Effect

The rite takes a single object - rope, canvas, or any rigid material - and weaves a slow chronomantic thread through its fibers. Over centuries the object's strands tighten, knots smooth, and it transforms into a more useful state. The process is so quiet that even a rustle is unheard; the ritual is performed with a looped rope and a small canvas patch as conduit.

Escalation

Pushing the rite harder accelerates the aging, but the silence shatters. The fibers snap with a thunderous crack, and the object may become over-strong or cursed, bringing misfortune to its wielder. The quiet correction that has lasted a century is lost.
