Open‑Handed Recall

Enchantment

A whimsical spell for Generic.

‘Just a routine exchange, dear—your door will thank you!’

Stats

  • Casting: A whispered recollection, shared over a flickering candle
  • Range: The interior walls of the building
  • Duration: Lasts until the last door swings outward, then fades

Effect

The caster offers a single memory of a chosen person in exchange for the latent strength that person would have lent in a moment of need. That strength seeps into the walls, causing every door within the structure to swing open outward as if pushed by an unseen breeze. The traded memory becomes a faint echo in the caster’s mind, replaced by a warm surge of borrowed vigor.

Escalation

By surrendering more than one memory—or a particularly treasured recollection—the caster can make the doors not only swing outward but fling wide, granting a brief burst of wind that can push back foes. Each additional memory adds a second outward swing and extends the lingering vigor for another minute.
