Bard Thrumhelm

Echoic Invocation

A whimsical spell for Generic.

Let the walls speak, and may your tongue be their echo.

Stats

  • Casting: A quiet chant traced upon fresh pine shavings
  • Range: The interior of a vacant dwelling, no matter how crumbling
  • Duration: Lasts until the final whispered syllable fades

Effect

You utter a single word, and the spell binds your voice to the last spoken phrase that lingers in the empty house. Each word you speak carries that ghostly echo, causing every listener to picture a different chamber of the building—no two descriptions match, and maps drawn from the visions are forever skewed. The ritual requires a pinch of resin and a handful of sawdust, pressed into the timber floorboards as a conduit for the echo.

Escalation

If you invest additional words, the echo expands to capture multiple lingering phrases, each layered upon the last. The house’s interior reshapes in the listeners’ minds, swapping doors and windows, and the confusion deepens until even the caster cannot recall the true layout.
