  • Range: Touch
  • Duration: 1 hour

Effect

The caster invokes the Memory Forge, binding themselves to a cherished memory of another soul. Through ritual and sacrifice, that memory is distilled into living force. *Success (4+)*: The recipient gains significant physical strength, able to lift twice their normal load. The caster loses the memory entirely. *Critical Success (5-6)*: Strength doubles, and the recipient gains a fleeting burst of magical resistance. The caster forgets the memory but retains a vague sense of having done something terrible. *Failure (1-3)*: The recipient feels a momentary surge of energy, but it dissipates quickly. The caster suffers a minor psychic strain—forgetting a small detail from their own past. *Critical Failure (0)*: The ritual backfires. Both parties experience intense pain as the memory tears through them, leaving the caster with a permanent amnesia gap and the recipient weakened beyond repair.

Heightened (+2)

The memory extracted is far more potent. The recipient's strength increases by an additional 50% beyond the base effect. The caster's memory loss becomes total—no trace remains, even of the bargain itself. However, the heightened ritual demands a second, darker component: a drop of the caster's own blood, spilt upon the altar before the incantation.
