Description

The silver band is etched with two intertwined hearts that never quite touch, each heart bearing a name that shifts as you read it. The ring’s provenance is recorded in a single, ever‑changing handwritten note that rewrites itself mid‑sentence, detailing a wedding that never occurred. When held, the metal hums with a faint, mischievous chime, and a faint scent of wilted lilies drifts from it.

Powers

While worn, the ring creates a fleeting telepathic link between any two people who share a secret they have never told each other. The pair can hear each other’s thoughts for a brief moment each night, often about matters of love or loss. The ring also causes small coincidences – a lost glove reappears, a misplaced invitation finds its way to the right mailbox – as if reality bends to stitch together the unwritten ceremony. However, the bond is fickle; if the wearers ever meet in person, the ring shatters into harmless dust.

Price of Use

Each night the ring is worn, the wearer loses one cherished memory of a loved one they have never met, replaced by a vivid dream of a wedding that never happened. The loss costs 1d4 % Sanity, and the dream must be recorded in a journal that the ring later consumes, erasing the entry and demanding a fresh page.
