Stats

  • Type: Wondrous item
  • Rarity: Uncommon
  • Attunement: Not required
  • Charges: 6

Properties

• A set of six 1d6, each possessing a single charge. To use a charge, the user must name the set as a single action; if no name is provided, the dice cannot be rolled. • On a successful use, roll all six dice. The total, T, is added to your proficiency bonus and applied as a bonus to a single attack roll, ability check, or saving throw of your choice. • The bonus equals T − 15, capped between +0 and +4. Thus a total of 15 gives no bonus, 18 gives +3, and 19 gives +4. • For each point of T above 18, pay that many copper pieces to the dice. No payment is required if T ≤ 18. • Each use consumes one charge. When the charges reach zero, the dice become inert. Recharging requires spending 10 gp and resting 1 hour, restoring all charges.

Lore

These dice were forged by Rilwick the Gnomish Ledgerkeeper, who believed fortune should always be accounted for. They insist on being named; until addressed, they refuse to roll. Legends say their ledger records every coin paid and every roll made, but no one has ever seen it.
