Description

When you Activate the Chrono‑Stereoscope (1 action), you point its twin lenses at a location within 30 feet. The device projects a vivid, three‑dimensional image of that space exactly one hour in the future. You can attempt a Perception check (DC 20) to discern details of the future scene. Success grants you a clear vision that lasts until the end of your turn, letting you note changes in layout, objects, or creatures. Critical Success adds faint sounds from that future moment, though they are noticeably muted. On a failure, the image is hazy and provides no useful information. The stereoscope can be used only once per hour; after activation it must recharge for 1 hour before it can be used again.

Lore

The Chrono‑Stereoscope was the brainchild of Vizzik Tinkertwist, a gnome tinkerer who believed that a world that suddenly fell silent was a bad omen. He forged the lenses from a crystal harvested under a blue moon and infused them with a pinch of quicksilver collected from a restless river. Legends say the device was originally intended to warn townsfolk of an approaching dragon whose roar would be muffled by a magical hush, but most adventurers now use it to avoid spilled drinks and misplaced keys.

Craft Requirements

Craft Requirements: Crafting DC 27; 2 days; must have the Sensing and Divination item traits; requires a crystal lens, a pinch of quicksilver, and a gnome‑crafted wooden frame.
