Congregation of Flame

The chandelynd is a hundred candles arrayed on aged brass arms, each flame the soul of a chorister who sang the final vespers before the plague took them. It sheds bright light in a 40-foot radius and dim light for an additional 40 feet. Any creature that starts its turn in the bright light must succeed on a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw or be charmed until the start of its next turn, hearing hymns of welcome and belonging.

Preserved Light

If the chandelynd is reduced to 0 hit points, each flame winks out individually over the course of one round, singing a discordant farewell. The room it occupied becomes supernaturally cold, smelling of snuffed wicks and root cellars. Any creature that contributed to its destruction must succeed on a DC 13 Charisma saving throw or gain one level of exhaustion as the absence settles into their bones.

Wax Cascade

Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (2d6 + 2) fire damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw or be restrained by hardening wax until the end of its next turn. The wax smells faintly of rendered turnip fat and winter storage.

Hymnal Rebuke

The chandelynd flares and all flames sing in unison. Each creature of the chandelynd's choice within 30 feet that can hear it must make a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw, taking 10 (3d6) psychic damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one. The song carries fragments of accusation in a language two centuries dead.

Tactics

The chandelynd hovers above doorways or over cellar stairs, using Congregation of Flame to charm intruders into standing beneath it while it rains Wax Cascade upon them. It reserves Hymnal Rebuke for those who flee or attack with ranged weapons. The chandelynd never retreats; it knows its destruction means something worse than violence.
