Description

The Whispering Rapier of the Eleventh Minute is a masterwork rapier with the finesse, deadly, magical, and versatile traits. It deals 1d6 + 2 piercing damage and grants a +2 item bonus to attack rolls and damage. **Echo of the Fallen** (1 action, Interact): When you reduce a creature to 0 HP with the rapier, its final spoken words are recorded. The rapier can store up to five such utterances. As a free action, you may command the rapier to speak a stored name. Until the end of your next turn you gain a +2 circumstance bonus to Intimidation checks against creatures of the recorded creature’s type, and you add a +1 status bonus to your next attack roll against a creature of that type. **Eleventh‑Minute Resonance** (1 action, Interact): Once per day, after the rapier has been in your possession for exactly eleven minutes, you can attempt to align its errant clock. Make a DC 30 Perception check; on a success you gain a +2 circumstance bonus to initiative rolls for the next encounter, and on a critical success the bonus increases to +4.

Valeris bound the souls of his fallen opponents to the steel, demanding that each whisper its name before silence fell. Over centuries the rapier’s internal clock, a delicate clockwork heart, fell out of sync with the world’s time by precisely eleven minutes. Now the weapon asks for names on its own, as if the missing minutes are a hunger it must feed with the memories of the dead.

Craft Requirements

Crafting the Whispering Rapier of the Eleventh Minute requires a masterwork rapier, a clockwork heart calibrated to run eleven minutes fast, a vial of blood from a sentient creature, and the spell **Soul Bind** (level 8).
