Mikoto Ki'Randu's Maps

Human Cartographer · Level 2

A classic NPC for Pathfinder 2e.

The future is inked, if only you can read it.

Stats

  • Role: Cartographer (Civilian)
  • Bond: Owes a debt to the city archivist who still believes his maps are true
  • Flaw: Obsessed with charting futures that never come

Appearance

He wears a threadbare scholar's robe stained with ink, a satchel of vellum slung across his shoulder, and his fingers are forever stained with a dark, quick-drying pigment. The air around him smells of old parchment and faintly of copper, as if the very paper in his hands breathes the scent of a forgotten archive.

Secret

The maps he sells depict cities, rivers, and mountain passes that do not exist yet, their details shifting as the parchment ages. In the margins of his journal, the handwriting changes mid-sentence, recording a resolution from forty years ago that was never enacted, hinting at a pact made with a restless spirit of the archive.

Hook

A local noble hires the party to acquire one of Mikoto Ki'Randu's maps that allegedly shows a hidden route to a distant trade post, unaware that following it leads them into a phantom landscape that vanishes when they reach its center.
