Effect

The hex manifests as a warm, pulsing heat that radiates from the caster's skin. It feels like the lingering breath of something ancient and hungry. Victims report an inexplicable compulsion to look upon the marked individual. At natural 1-5, the target becomes aware of the hex and cannot hide it from others. At natural 6-10, the target is forced to remain within the caster's immediate vicinity. At natural 11-15, the target's allies turn hostile against the marked person. At natural 16+, the hex becomes permanent, and the marked soul is forever visible to any who would do them harm.

Heightened

At heightened power, the hex burns with a steady, internal flame that cannot be extinguished by willpower alone. The warmth intensifies to a searing heat that causes pain to those who try to remove themselves from the hex's influence. The compulsion becomes absolute—the target cannot leave the caster's presence without suffering severe mental distress. Allies of the target are driven to violence against the marked individual, and the hex persists indefinitely unless broken by a ritual of true sacrifice.
